I truly think this is the first time he even noticed the blanket covered object with a big red bow on it! It was just too cute!!!

Christmas Morning- Oh what joy! Part 2
Trav's mom and dad sent him a r/c car kit called THE FROG! He built the SAME ONE when he was 11 and when they reintroduced last year he was so excited! It was the only thing he asked Santa for this year!

Barb sent me the Easy Bake oven!!! You have no idea how excited I was to have that box in my hands! When I was little I asked my MawMaw and PawPaw for an Easy Bake and thought for sure I was getting it and received a Holly Hobbie sleeping bag instead, the next year I got yet another sleeping bag and was sad once again! Anyway, it's the ONE THING I always wanted and never received and after hearing the story in the past and then hearing about it again recently on Trav's cousins blog decided to surprise me!!! Thank you Barb, it was very thoughtful of you!!! And yes....there were tears!

Pyramid of cardboard bricks! Don't mind the TRAIN TABLE covered to your left Ryan! He never even noticed it!!! ha!
Christmas Morning- Oh what joy! Part 1
Travis is thrilled with his new running socks!!!

Daddy helping Ry unwrap some new puzzles from Santa!

His first stocking full of fun goodies!

Enjoying his Christmas morning breakfast!

Little does he know what is waiting for him downstairs!!!
Ryan woke up at 0615 and both Trav and I decided that it was just too early! So, I got his some milk and rocked him back to sleep!!! Yeah! He woke up again around 0800 and we were good to go! We decided to have him eat breakfast and wake up a bit before starting all the fun! We knew all the gifts would excite him and keep him occupied for hours, so we waited about an hour! We eased him into it all with some Christmas tunes and stocking stuffers, made our way to the wrapped gifts from our loved ones, then on to the big gifts from Santa!!!
Christmas Eve Hike 2009- Iron Mtn
Ryan slept the entire way to the top and was awesome the entire way down! He is just a natural which makes his daddy very happy! 6 miles round trip and not a peep!! The weather was gorgeous and we could see downtown San Diego, The Coronado Islands, San Clemente Island, etc. all from basically our house!! It was such a beautiful Christmas Eve day in San Diego!!!
The Way the Kelley's Spend Christmas Eve Day
Perfect Christmas gift for Trav!
Our Christmas Eve started off to a great start! All THREE of us made one last trip to the grocery store to stock up on last minute necessities for our family Christmas dinner! They guys roamed the aisles while I quickly grabbed everything so Travis didn't go nuts! Then we were off to the airport for a quick visit with our other child, KAY a.k.a The YAK! She was cold and Trav she thought she needed to be warmed up, so he decided to give us a private airshow! While Trav prepped her for her Christmas flight, Co-Pilot Ryan did all of the pre-flight cockpit checks and then she was ready to go!!! Ryan was a bit scared when Trav started her up and cried a little bit, but calmed down once Trav started to taxi. He kept pointing and saying, "Dada"! He doesn't say "airplane" when he sees a plane, just "dada" which warms my heart and I can only imagine how Trav feels! While Trav got some gas Ryan and I made our way over to the picnic table/viewing area and soaked up some of the sunshine while waiting for the show! Once Trav started to go Ryan had such a confused look on his face. I was glad when Travis did a fly-by because then he caught on that DADA was actually in the plane! The second time he did a fly-by I filmed it, then panned over to Ryan who was pushing a choo-choo along the bench of the picnic table!! Ha! Does he realize how lucky he is to have this private airshow??? Too funny!!!
Sleepy Santa
Here is a great shot of my sweet little Santa sleeping in the car on one of the MANY days I had to drag him around San Diego while getting some last minute Christmas shopping/errands done! Those who know my child well know that he is a trooper and great while out and about, but let me just say.....he was a SUPER TROOPER this holiday season! His reward is MANY MANY days at the park or zoo or train museum in early 2010!!!! Thank you for making my life easy!!!
Busted lip....perfect for Christmas morning pictures!!
Bonus picture.....this is what he was doing 10 minutes before the "accident"
Okay, so my child is MY CHILD! Very accident prone, but it may just be the boy in him!! He falls, runs into things, etc. ALL THE TIME! Anyway, he was just walking, tripped on his own two feet, barely hit the coffee table and what do you know.....a busted lip just in time for Christmas! I, believe or not, was amazingly calm and handled it well without freaking out due to the crazy amount of blood!! I am sure this is the 1st of many bloody lips in our future!!!!
Random Ryan pics
Little Santa Noodle
My child actually likes wearing his Santa hat and gets a lot of attention while wearing it around town! He will actually pat the top of his head and say, "hat" and he doesn't mean his Chargers baseball cap, he wants his Santa hat! I love it! He is such a happy and fun little guy and the fact that he brings complete strangers such joy makes me so happy!!!! I hope he continues to be such a sweet and friendly little child!!
O Christmas Tree O Christmas Tree
My bloody scalp after the trunk of the tree came slamming down on my head while we were loading it on top of my SUV!! Good times! No stitches required, but I did get to rest on the couch for a bit while icing the HUGE bump!! Poor accident prone JenB!
Well, we went out on a rainy Sunday to find the perfect Christmas tree! We wanted to go and cut one down, but considering the weather was less than perfect, we settled on Home Depot! Rumor had it that they had great trees and that turned out to be true and they were much cheaper than cute little Tree Store near our home.....about $60 cheaper!! We needed a really tall one for our massive front room, so we settled on a gorgeous 9 ft. Nobel Fir! It smells wonderful and looks great with the lights and ornaments on it!! I like to go in the front yard and look at it through the windows! Ryan has actually been really good with it and has only messed with the train ornaments!!! He says "Goodnight Christmas tree" as we make our way upstairs every night and points and says "Christmas tree" as we make our way down every morning! I love Christmas with a child!
